Hermodactylus tuberosus

Hermodactylus tuberosus (Snakes Head Iris)

This intriguing iris relative is a small delight. Its green and purple/black flowers are said to resemble a snakes head in the grass (and it can naturalize well in grass) or in a pot. Likes dry conditions grows to 25cm. Flowers for me in September.
